Taste & Temptation at Two Rivers Cafe

You won't believe the taste of the treats you will be tempted with at Two Rivers Cafe in Cheviot.  Just an hour south of Kaikoura and an hour and a half north of Christchurch on Main Highway 1 it is the ideal stop for breakfast, lunch or coffee and a snack.  Alternatively it is the perfect venue to meet friends for a long lunch so that you can soak up the atmosphere, sample the fine wine and enjoy the delicious food.  The gourmet pies and pizzas, not to mention the Eggs Benedict and Seafood Chowder, are popular favourites.

The food is all made in house, with a cabinet full of enticing treats both savoury and sweet.  There is a breakfast menu and daily lunch specials available and a fine selection of local wine and beer.  There are extensive choices of food for both vegetarian and gluten free customers.  Hummingbird Coffee and Teatotal tea are available to enjoy in the cafe or to takeaway.  The cafe is open daily in summer from 9am - 5pm and in winter from 9am - 4pm.  In the summer it opens during the weekends for evening dining and will open any evening for a booking of 20 or more.

Quality service and product are important at Two Rivers and, run in conjuction with a wonderful modern art gallery, it offers an interesting, comfortable venue for diners and art lovers alike.  The inside area is extensive with plenty of seating and, with a real fire and efficient heating system, is always warm and cosy in winter. For outside dining in summer there is an extensive deck area with more seating and a sculpture garden planted in natives complete with an attractive water feature.
